He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw in 1983 (the Faculty of Instrument, the trumpet specialization). He improved his skills by outstanding pedagogues such as Timofiej Dokszitser and Edward Tarr inBayreuth. He is a laureate of the Young Trumpeters Competition in Pabianice (1980) and Playing on the Trumpet Competition in Gdańsk (1985).

   He started his professional work in the National Philharmonic Orchestra in Warsawin 1983.

   In the years 1986-1988 he worked in the Pomeranian Philharmonic Orchestra in Bydgoszcz as a musician-soloist.

   From 1986 to 2007 he was a soloist and held the function of the concertmaster of the trumpet section in the Poznań Philharmonic Orchestra. He cooperated with philharmonic orchestras fromGdańsk, Szczecin, Koszalin and Toruń Chamber Ensemble, “Capella Bydgostiensis” and also with the Brandenburgische Staatsorchester Frankfurt (Germany) and theNorthamptonshire County Youth Concert Band (Great Britain). With these ensembles he performed in Europe, U.S. and Canada.

   Prof. Gryń also undertakes various activities as a soloist and a chamber player. He is the co-founder of “Poznan Brass Quintet” chamber ensemble and often performed with “Tutti e Solo”. It is also with this ensemble that he recorded the “Polish Baroque” CD. In his artistic career he is very often accompanied by a group of organ players such as J. Tuma (Czech Republic), M. Rost (Germany), M. Hannula (Finland), E. Karolak, S. Kamiński, R. Hauptman, M. Dąbrowski, B. Narloch, R. Perucki, J. Malanowicz, A. Chorosiński from Poland.

   He is also a professor at the Academy of Music in Poznań and in Bydgoszcz. InPoznań he leads the trumpet class and since 2002 he is the Head of the Chair of Wind Instruments and Accordion. He has been a jury member at national and international competitions. He leads workshops and interpretation courses of orchestral, chamber and solo music.
