Nodar Zhvania
Professor, The Public Artist of Georgia
Nodar Zhvania – Viola Player, the People’s Artist of Georgian, Professor of Tbilisi State Conservatoire. Nodar Zhvania was born in 1945 in Kutaisi. In 1968 he graduated from the Tbilisi V. Sarajishvili State Conservatoire.
In 1964 -1966 he worked at the State Chamber Orchestra of Georgia; Since 1966 he is a member of Sulkhan Tsintsadze State String Quartet; in 1991-1993 he was a Head of the Violin and Viola Department at Tbilisi State Conservatoire; For many years he worked in the Ingolstadt city in Germany at Georgian Chamber Orchestra as a soloist; He performs with different Chamber Orchestras, in addition he performs active pedagogical activities as well.
Currently he is a Principle of the Tbilisi Z. Paliashvili Central Musical School ("Ten Year School for Talents"). He was awarded with Shota Rustaveli and Zakaria Paliashvili prizes for the concert activities and for the special creative contribution in the development and promotion of the Quartet Arts. He is the knight of the Award “Order of Honor” of the Government of Georgia.
