George Tchitchinadze

 

Conductor.

A Full Professor at the Tbilisi State Conservatory

Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Polish Baltic Frederic Chopin Philharmonic Orchestra.

Completed his education at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire in 1993, graduating from the Piano Department under the tutelage of Professor E. Rusishvili and a full course in Symphony Conducting in the class of the Professor O. Dimitriadi.

 

From 1994 to 1995, he undertook an assistantship-internship at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg. Between 1996 and 2002, Tchitchinadze served as a Conductor for the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra, followed by a tenure as a Conductor at the Tbilisi State Opera House from 2003 to 2011. He held the position of Artistic Director at the Kutaisi Opera Theatre from 2014 to 2015. Since 2001, he has been teaching at the Opera Department of the Tbilisi State Conservatoire.

 

Tchitchinadze's concert geography covers the countries such as Japan, China, Syria, Turkey, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, and Latvia, among others.

 

He has collaborated with the numerous philharmonic orchestras, including the Amsterdam Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Lithuanian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Saint-Petersburg State Hermitage Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra.

 

As a music director, he has led nearly 15 opera productions and conducted masterclasses for young conductors and opera singers at prestigious institutions such as the Sibelius Music Academy (Helsinki, Finland), Oslo Music Academy (Norway), Riga Music Academy (Latvia), Gdansk Music Academy (Poland), and Liszt Music Academy (Budapest, Hungary).

 

Currently, he serves as the Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of the Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra. He is also the head of the Opera Department at the Tbilisi State Conservatoire, where he holds the position of Full Professor and oversees the Opera Department and Opera Studio.
