George (Gogi) Tchitchinadze

 

Professor, Conductor

   In 1993 he graduated from the Tbilisi State Conservatoire the Piano Department in the class of the professor E. Rusishvili, he also completed the full course of symphony conducting (in the class of the professor O.Dimitriadi).

   In 1994 -95 he passed assistantship – internship at Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg.

   In 1996 -2002 he worked as a Conductor of the Georgian State Symphony Orchestra.

   In 2003 -2011 he was a Conductor of the Tbilisi State Opera House.

   In 2014 -2015 he was an Artistic Director of the Kutaisi Opera Theatre.

Since 2001 he works as a teacher at Opera Department of Tbilisi State Conservatoire.

The geography of the concerts performed by George Tchitchinadze includes: Japan, China, Siria, Turkey, Spain, France, Netherlands, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Lithuania, Latvia...

   George Tcitchinadze cooperated with many philharmonic orchestras such as: Amsterdam Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, Lithuanian State Philharmonic Orchestra, Saint-Petersburg State Hermitage Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia, Wroclaw Philharmonic Orchestra, Lodz Philharmonic Orchestra and etc.

   He was a Music Director of the nearly 15 Opera productions, conducted the master classes with the young Conductors and Opera singers at: Sibelius Music Academy (Helsinki, Finland), Oslo Music Academy (Norway), Riga Music Academy (Latvia), Gdansk Music Academy (Poland), Liszt Music Academy (Budapest, Hungary).

   Currently he is an Artistic Director and Chief Conductor of Polish Baltic Philharmonic Orchestra, also a Head of the Opera Department of Tbilisi State Conservatoire, Full Professor and Chief of the Opera Department and Opera Studio of Tbilisi State Conservatoire.
